Music on the Plaza
We’re kicking off the spring season in Downtown Tryon with the amazing Karen Clardy!

Come spend a spring afternoon enjoying live music, local vibes, and the charm of our downtown community. Grab lunch from a nearby restaurant, shop local, and relax while Karen fills the Plaza with great tunes.

Tryon 4th Friday
4th Fridays are monthly strolls held in Downtown Tryon during the months of February-November where shops stay open later to bring in more guests after work hours. Many of our shops and restaurants have specials, live music, refreshments and more. Shop, dine and play in Downtown Tryon with great restaurants, shops, galleries and the fully restored historic movie theater.
Misdemeanor Band will be performing live at the plaza.
April Fools Parade and Outhouse Races
The Tryon April Fools Celebration is back! The Parade will kick off on Trade Street at noon. Outhouse races will follow immediately after the Parade. There will be face painting & music at the plaza. Foothills Humane Society will be there with some adoptable dogs! Come out for a fun afternoon of foolery!

Get ready to spice up your evening on February 27th from 5-7pm in Downtown Tryon! We’re bringing the community together for a fiery, flavor-packed chili showdown—and we want YOU to be part of the fun.
Whether you prefer your chili smoky, savory, or hot enough to make you break a sweat, this is your chance to taste, enjoy, and help crown a champion. The event is free to attend, but you can purchase a tasting spoon for $5 & help choose the winning chili. Every ticket dropped in a team’s bucket brings them one step closer to victory!

Dedication Ceremony for “The Buck” at the Depot Plaza - TACS

Crafted by the talented Breakfast Club at TACS, this installation marks the kickoff of the new TDDA/TACS Public Arts Partnership. Countdown to Midnight in Downtown Tryon!
As the clock ticks toward the stroke of midnight, historic Tryon comes alive with anticipation. Families gather, their faces illuminated by the warm glow of streetlights and the twinkle of stars. Laughter and chatter fill the air, creating a sense of togetherness that transcends time.

Jingle Mingle
The Tryon Jingle & Mingle Holiday Market and Merchant Wreath Competition is a festive evening event celebrating the start of the holiday season in downtown Tryon. Hosted by the Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA), the event invites residents and visitors to stroll through downtown, shop with local merchants, enjoy holiday market vendors, and admire creatively decorated wreaths displayed by downtown businesses.
Holiday Market: In the stores
Merchant Wreath Competition: Downtown businesses display holiday wreaths; attendees can vote for their favorites. Tickets handed to people as they arrive. Judges will vote on Nov 28.

14th Annual Tryon Beerfest
Come out to the 14th Annual Tryon Beer Fest on Depot Street in Downtown Tryon. We will be featuring the top craft breweries from the Carolinas plus food, games, music, and more. See all the details at tryonbeerfest.com.

Tryon Halloween Stroll
Local shops and boutiques spill their secrets. Knock on creaky doors, and you’ll be greeted by friendly witches and wizards. They offer treats but beware: some may ask for a riddle or a spooky tale in return.

TDDA Annual Meeting
Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA) will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, July 14th at Sunnydale (344 S. Trade Street, Tryon). meeting will begin at 6 PM, with time for networking, light refreshments and beverages.
The meeting will include an update on TDDA projects & events, the introduction of new TDDA officers, and awards for economic development, promotion, and design.
The Annual Meeting is open to all Tryon businesses and residents interested in supporting TDDA. The mission of TDDA is to preserve and enhance the community of Tryon through a downtown revitalization program that focuses on economic vitality, excellent urban design, and historic preservation.
There will also be an opportunity to join or renew membership with TDDA. $20 entry for non-members/free for current members. Cash or check only as there is no wifi at Sunnydale.
