Over thirty community yard sales, business sales, yART sales and more will happen Saturday, August 12 in celebration of National Yard Sale Day. The second annual 176 Street Sale will feature more yard sales, and a special performance by local favorite band, 176: an original rock band from Tryon, NC featuring Ian Harrod, Rich Nelson, Marco Noto, and Vincent Corda.
Visit places all along Hwy 176 including Dark Horse Antiques to Red Dog Relics and into Landrum, SC. Downtown Tryon will be filled with sales, including the newly opened Katie D’s NY Bagels. Tryon Painters and Sculptors will have a yART sale, and a big family yard sale up at the Tryon Depot parking lot. You’ll see plenty of sales at the downtown businesses and beyond. In addition to the sales, the shops at the Jackson Building (17 S Trade Street) will feature outdoor food, produce and goodies from Manna Cabanna Community Kitchen.
Stay in Downtown Tryon all day, with 176 playing at 9am at St. Luke’s Plaza in front of Huckleberry’s Tryon and the Tryon Coffee House Co-op, and Tyger River bluegrass playing at noon. Grab a bite to eat at Huckleberry’s, Lavender Bistro, 10 N Trade Cafe, Black Coffee, Side Street Pizza or Buck’s Pizza, and enjoy a beer or wine from the Tryon Bottle (you can even take it along Trade Street during the sale!) As always, the Tryon Coffee House Co-op will be serving up iced and hot coffee and the kids with the Fans of Harmon Field will have a lemonade stand outside to raise money for a new playground at Harmon Field.
