The Tryon Downtown Development Association’s the first ever Tryon Rhythm & Wine Festival, presented by New View Realty will take place on Saturday, May 6 from 3-7pm at the Tryon Depot Plaza. With a vibrant wine culture in Polk County and Western North Carolina, it is an obvious place to celebrate. The Mill Spring Farm Store will bring a wide representation of store offerings that can be paired perfectly with a glass of wine. The Farm Store’s emphasis is always on local products. Dips, dunks and spreads will be available as well as local chips, crackers and pretzels. Mix and Match snacks with your favorite glass of wine and you’ll find the perfect pair!
When Reda Harvey made the decision to leave her years of involvement in the corporate restaurant world, she returned home to Polk County, NC.
Reda knew she enjoyed working with others and being a part of the local food movement and thus decided to become a volunteer at the Mill Spring Farm Store and became the owner of the Farm Store in September, 2013. She has brought with her 32 years food experience, dedication and a vision to the local food scene.
Over the last three years the Farm Store has seen a huge transformation and continuous growth, with strong relationships with local growers and local farms as well as a steady growth of regular customers. The store serves as an opportunity for agricultural economic development and a source for good, “clean” food. The Mill Spring Farm Store carries meats, poultry, eggs, organic dairy products and many, many value- added artisan products. Produce is provided by local farms and locally sourced suppliers. This is where her favorite word “clean” originates; responsibly grown with a small footprint. The store also serves as a showplace for local artists and has an onsite blacksmith.
The Mill Spring Farm Store is a store of convenience. It is local and unique and offers a wide array of inventory that has been carefully chosen. Reda invites you to come see what the Farm Store is all about. The store is located in the Historical Mill Spring Agricultural Center near the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 108. The actual address is 156 School Road, Mill Spring, NC. 28756 The phone number is 828-894-8028.
